Suspect In Custody After Encino Shooting Involving Officer
ENCINO (CBSLA) — A shooting suspect was in custody Sunday morning after a standoff that locked down an Encino neighborhood for hours Saturday night.
It all started around 9:30 p.m. when police found a man with a gun. At one point they shot him but he managed to get away.
Officers then followed a trail of blood that led to someone's backyard on Shoshone Avenue near Weddington Street.
People living in that area were immediately evacuated and others celebrating a wedding nearby were also sheltered inside of a church.
That suspect was finally caught around 2:30 Sunday morning.
He was rushed to the hospital and is expected to be OK.
