Elvis Presley Palm Springs honeymoon home is for sale
There's a swanky $9 million Palm Springs home for sale, and it's tied to Elvis Presley.
Built in 1960, the mid-century modern house was designed by architect William Krisel and featured in a 1962 Look magazine article as "The House of Tomorrow."
With its mountain views, sunken party pad, fireplaces and pool, newlyweds Elvis and Priscilla decided it would be the place they begin their new life together.
The couple married in Las Vegas in 1967 and Elvis leased the desert honeymoon house on a one-year lease. Their child, Lisa Marie, was born nine months later.
The four-bedroom, five-bath home has become known as the Elvis Honeymoon Hideaway, joining other celebrity-status dwellings in the area like the Frank Sinatra Estate and the Liberace House.
The house is big on curvature design, with circular living areas on three levels, a curved wall of stonework, a round kitchen island and a round free-standing fireplace in the middle of the circular living room.
Views of the Santa Rosa Mountains and the Coachella Valley are highlighted in the home's design as walls of glass overlook the pool to soak up the vista.
The 4,695-square-foot house, on a cul-de-sac in the Vista Las Palmas neighborhood, is being sold fully furnished.
