Caretaker Tied Up In Westwood Home-Invasion Robbery
WESTWOOD (CBS) — At least one person was tied up Tuesday morning during a home-invasion robbery in Westwood.
A gardener called police around 7:40 a.m. to report the incident, which took place in the 300 block of Norcroft Avenue.
Two armed men reportedly broke into a home and tied up the caretaker of an elderly resident. The resident told CBS2 that he slept through the entire incident.
The two victims were not hurt in the robbery, officials said.
The robbers, who left with a suitcase, had their heads and faces covered. They may have fled the scene in a Chrysler 300.
"We don't believe he was necessarily targeted. We are still investigating in regards to why this particular residence, why here, why now," said LAPD Det. Stanley Evans.
Anyone with information about the case was asked to call (877)LAPD-24-7.
