El Monte Man, 36, Who Died In Confrontation With Police Identified
EL MONTE (CBS) — A man involved in a domestic dispute in El Monte who died after he got into an altercation with police was identified Sunday.
El Monte police responded to a family disturbance call in the 2700 block of Caminar Avenue around 10:56 p.m. Thursday, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Deputy Benjamin Grubb.
The suspect, identified by the coroner's office as 36-year-old Khoa Anh Le, got into a fight with the officers, who noticed while they were detaining the man that he was having ``medical complications,'' Grubb said.
The officers called emergency medical personnel, who took Le to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Grubb said.
Sheriff's Homicide Bureau detectives were assisting El Monte police in investigating the fatality.
