East LA Deputies Discover $2M In Stolen Electronics
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Sheriff's deputies have recovered $2 million in stolen electronics at a business in East Los Angeles.
The discovery was made about 11 a.m. on Oct. 13, in the 1200 block of South Easter Avenue, according to authorities.
A news release issued by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said the deputies came across a large reserve of electronic equipment that was "shrink wrapped" and loaded into wooded pallets at the location.
Deputies subsequently contacted investigators with the Major Crimes/Cargo Criminal Apprehension Team who responded to the location and determined that they were in fact stolen.
The items recovered included flat panel television sets, home and mobile stereo systems, projectors, clothing, ceramic tile and stone, the news release stated.
