East Coast Burger Chain Five Guys Invades Orange County
HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBS) — An epic burger battle is set to take place in Huntington Beach.
The East Coast's favorite burger joint, Five Guys Burgers & Fries, has opened a restaurant in Huntington Beach, 19645 Beach Blvd. – just a quarter-mile from an In-N-Out Burger. Five Guys' reputation on the East Coast equals the reputation that In-N-Out has built on the West Coast.
In fact, Five Guys will be expanding in California – specifically, in Los Angeles and Orange counties. The first Five Guys restaurant opened in Thousand Oaks over the summer.
Compared to the originator of the drive-through, Five Guys is a counter-service only operation. Five Guys' menu also offers hot dogs and a variety of toppings, in contrast to In-N-Out's simple fare of just burgers, fries and shakes.
The next Five Guys in Orange County will open in Tustin in early 2011. The chain also plans to open restaurants in Laguna Niguel, Valencia, Simi Valley and Culver City.
