6.0 Earthquake Strikes Eastern Sierra Nevada; Shaking Felt In Bay Area
STOCKTON (CBS SF) – A magnitude 6.0 earthquake that struck the Eastern Sierra was felt in much of Northern California, including the Bay Area, Thursday afternoon.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake struck near Smith Valley, Nevada around 3:49 p.m.
The quake was reportedly felt in the East Bay, up towards Sacramento and as far west as San Francisco.
