Ducks Beat USC 61-51
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Malcolm Armstead had 14 points and five assists as Oregon beat Southern California 61-51 on Saturday night.
Armstead scored nine of his points in the final seven minutes including two free throws with 20 seconds left to help keep the Ducks safely ahead and post their fourth straight victory over the Trojans.
E.J. Singler had 11 points for the Ducks (13-12, 6-7 Pac-10), which led by as many as 15 in the second half.
Despite being double- and triple-teamed, Nikola Vucevic had 22 points and 15 rebounds for USC (13-12, 5-7). He was the only player in double digits for the Trojans.
Oregon made 42.9 percent of its 3-pointers and shot 41.8 percent from the field.
Trailing 55-40, USC went on a 9-2 run capped by Maurice Jones'3-pointer with 2:55 remaining.
USC scored the game's first basket, but Oregon took command the rest of the way.
