Driver Shot On 91 Freeway In Long Beach
LONG BEACH (CBS) — Shots were fired into a Range Rover, injuring the driver and missing passengers, on the westbound Artesia (91) Freeway Wednesday, authorities said.
The shooting was reported at about 1:30 a.m. between Downey Avenue and Paramount Boulevard in Long Beach, according to the Lakewood Sheriff's station.
The victim then drove to a 76 gas station at Alondra Boulevard and Woodruff Avenue in Bellflower where an ambulance was called, according to news reports.
Passengers in the car had just finished eating at a Denny's restaurant near Lakewood Boulevard before the shooting and that is where the trouble may have initiated, according to RMG News and On Scene Video.
The westbound 91 was closed early Wednesday between Downey and Paramount, where Long Beach police and CHP investigators looked for shell casings on the freeway.
