Dozens Of Gang Members Arrested In Oxnard
OXNARD (CBS) — Police arrest 22 gang members Wednesday in Oxnard.
The suspects allegedly have links to the "Colonia Chiques" street gang. The gang is historically known for murders.
The arrests come after an 18 month long investigation called "Supernova." It concentrated on drug trafficking activities and was conducted by the Oxnard Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
A dozen weapons, a quarter pound of methamphetamine and a quarter pound of heroin were seized in the raid.
"Today our community is safer," said Jeri Williams of the Oxnard Police Chief.
Officials say four additional suspects in their investigation remain at large.
