Arsonist To Blame For Fire That Destroyed Brentwood Complex
BRENTWOOD (CBS) — Investigators say an arsonist is to blame for a fire that destroyed a six-unit townhouse complex under construction early Thursday morning, fire investigators said.
The fire, which was reported at 3:42 a.m. at 12315 Gorham Avenue, was contained around 5:16 a.m.
Arson investigators and dogs were sent to the scene late Thursday morning and searched through the rubble of six two-story townhomes.
A family of four lost their home and a couple was displaced due to the fire that also spread to nearby structures.
Firefighters recovered a box with a WWII medal that belongs to a woman who lived in the destroyed home.
Approximately 100 people were evacuated, but most of them were able to return home.
The fire caused millions of dollars in damage, but no injuries were reported.
