Don't Whine! Trader Joe's Says Cost Of 'Two Buck Chuck' Is Going Up
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — You won't be able to call it "Two Buck Chuck" much longer.
Trader Joe's has announced the price of its most-affordable wine is going up.
In California stores, the bottle of wine that cost just under $2 for the past eleven years, will now cost around $2.50.
That's still a bargain, considering the inexpensive vino often wins taste tests against wines that cost many times more.
The wine, also known by a few consumers by its more classy name -- Charles Shaw Wine -- costs as much as $3.79 in other states -- thanks to distribution costs and taxes.
