Dodgers Take On Rival Giants On 2013 Opening Day
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A sellout crowd was on hand Monday as the Los Angeles Dodgers took on their longtime rivals and World Series champion San Francisco Giants on Opening Day.
KNX 1070's Jon Baird reports many fans caught their first glimpse of the revamped Dodger Stadium as the 2013 season got underway.

Along with an increased police presence at Chavez Ravine in response to the brutal beating of Bryan Stow after the Opening Day game in 2011, LAPD also deployed undercover officers dressed as Giants fans around the stadium.
In addition to Opening Day excitement, fans were treated to an estimated $100 million in renovations including new restrooms, restaurants, cell phone towers, Wi-Fi capability, a kids zone and a high-definition score board.
"We have worked very hard both last summer and this off season to put together a team that will contend. We are the Dodgers. We should contend every year," team President Stan Kasten told KNX 1070. "If we stay healthy, could be as good as anyone and it should be a very fun season."
