Dodger Fans Face New Changes During Opening Day 2015
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Dodgers will face the San Diego Padres Monday to kick off the 2015 season.
First pitch for the sold out Opening Day game will be at 1:10 p.m. at Dodger Stadium.
Clayton Kershaw will be on the mound for the two-time defending NL West champions. The left-hander was 21-3 with a 1.77 ERA in the 2014 season. He's 3-0 on opening day, allowing one earned run in 25 2-3 innings, with 26 strikeouts and three walks.
James Shields will be the starting pitcher for the opposing Padres. The right-hander was 14-8 with a 3.21 ERA for Kansas City in 2014 before he signed a $75 million, four-year deal with San Diego.
Dodger Stadium gates opened at 10 a.m. On-field pregame ceremonies will begin at 12:25 p.m.
The Dodgers encourage fans to carpool, arrive early and utilize transportation alternatives that connect Union Station to the Dodger Stadium Express.
After neighbors complained in 2014, police decided to forbid parking on the Avenue of the Palms (Stadium Way) between Scott Road and Academy Road from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Los Angeles Police Department also enacted a zero tolerance policy for drinking in public or in the nearby parks. Tailgating will also not be permitted on the Dodger Stadium premises.
Monday's game will be the first of a three-game series against the Padres.
