Dodgers Rookie Joc Pederson Paying His Dues By Getting Starbucks For Teammates In Full Uniform
CHICAGO (CBSLA.com) - Rookie phenom Joc Pederson of Northern California is paying his dues on the streets of Chicago before the hunt of October, which begins in two weeks.
Just before the Dodgers' matinee game against the Chicago Cubs, the vets made rookie Joc Pederson go on a run for Starbucks coffee for his team in full uniform, with cleats.
It looks like equipment manager Mitch Poole gave the rook an extra hand to help him carry the 10 drinks they ordered.
Apparently the coffee was so good that it helped the Dodgers give Clayton Kershaw's 20th win and extend the team's lead by three whole games ahead of the San Francisco Giants.
Pederson, who is MLB's 18th best prospect, was Triple-A's first player to have a 30-30 season in 80 years.
The Dodgers called up the 22-year-old when the team expanded the roster to 40.
