Dodgers Dream Foundation To Dedicate Its 10th Dreamfield
NORTHRIDGE (CBS) — A renovated baseball field partly funded by the Dodgers Dream Foundation will be dedicated Tuesday at the Northridge Recreation Center.
The renovations include a warning track, fencing, dugout roofs and a solar-powered scoreboard.
Along with the Dodgers Dream Foundation, funding was provided by the city of Los Angeles and the LA 84 Foundation, which manages Southern California's share of the surplus from the 1984 Summer Olympics.
The Dodgers Dream Foundation says the Northridge field is the 10th they've helped buld or renovate since 2003. The team announced in November 2008 that it was committed to adding 42 Dodger Dreamfields, to total 50.
The Dodgers Dream Foundation is funded through private donations and fundraisers. Team finances are not used.
