Dodgers Claim Infielder Ryan Jackson From Padres
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Dodgers claimed infielder Ryan Jackson from the San Diego Padres on Monday.
The 26-year-old infielder has recorded a .268 batting average, with 27 home runs and 203 RBI in 576 games played through six seasons in the minor leagues.
Jackson made his Major League debut in 2012 for the St. Louis Cardinals, appearing in 20 games through 2012-13. He has not played for a major league club since 2013.
He was selected by St. Louis in the fifth round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft, after playing ball at the University of Miami.
Jackson has spent time at second base, shortstop and third base with a fielding percentage of .944. The majority of his time in the Majors was spent at second base, where he played 29.1 innings.
The Dodgers now have 36 players on their 40-man roster.
