Dodgers Call Up Mega Prospect Rubby De La Rosa

HOUSTON (AP) -- The Los Angeles Dodgers have called up right-hander Rubby De La Rosa from Double-A Chattanooga and designated Lance Cormier for assignment.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly says the 22-year-old De La Rosa has a great arm and that "with Lance, it just wasn't working out."

Cormier is 0-1 with a 9.88 ERA in nine appearances this season.

De La Rosa has mostly worked as a starter, but does have some experience as a reliever. He is 2-2 with a 2.92 ERA in eight minor league starts this season.

The Dodgers are looking for help in the bullpen with closer Jonathan Broxton and relievers Blake Hawksworth and Vicente Padilla all on the disabled list.
