Dodgers Bankruptcy Hearing Postponed For One Month
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A major bankruptcy hearing between the Dodgers and Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig has been postponed for one month, according to the Los Angeles Times.
No reason was given by U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kevin Gross for the delay. The hearing was originally set for Oct. 31 through Nov. 4.
MLB is accusing bankrupt Dodgers owner Frank McCourt of $190 million from the team for his personal use.
The hearing will now take place from Nov. 29 through Dec. 2, according to the Times.
It will address McCourt's ability to sell the team's media rights and whether Selig can get the judge to order the sale of the Dodgers, the Times said.
"The postponement makes it unlikely that Gross will rule on whether McCourt has to sell the Dodgers before baseball's annual winter meetings, set for Dec. 5-8 in Dallas," the paper reported.
