Disneyland Raises Ticket Prices, Suspends Passport Passes
ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — The happiest place on earth just got more expensive.
Disneyland has raised its single day ticket price by $4 to $96 for those 10 years old and up.
The increase, which went into effect Sunday, is for both California Adventure and Disneyland park.
"Like any business, we periodically evaluate our pricing and make adjustments based on a variety of factors," Director of Media Relations for the Disneyland Resort Suzi Brown said. "A ticket to our theme parks represents a great value, particularly when you look at the breadth and quality of attractions and entertainment we offer and the special moments guests experience with our cast."
Parking fees also increased from $16 to $17.
Sales of the Southern California Passports, which allows locals to visit the parks more than 200 days per year for one price, have also been suspended.
"Due to the popularity of our Annual Pass Program — and to preserve the Guest experience for our Annual Passholders and all Guests — future sales of all Annual Passes will be subject to availability," Brown said. "At this time, the Southern California Annual Pass will be available for on-time renewals only. We continue to offer a variety of other Annual Passes so that our Guests can choose a pass that's right for them."
The park expects sales to resume at a later date, Brown said.
Disney last raised ticket prices at its SoCal theme parks in June 2013.
Single-day ticket prices have more than doubled since 2003.
