Disney 'Wonder' Moves To Port Of Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Disney Cruise Line moved its 964-foot ocean liner, Disney Wonder, to the Port of Los Angeles Friday morning.
The ship, which is capable of carrying 2,400 passengers and 1,000 crew members, will leave Friday night for a special two-night cruise.
The Wonder, which will call the Port of Los Angeles home for at least two years, offers seven-night cruises to the Mexican Riviera.
"The West Coast has a significant fan base for Disney Cruise Line and we continually hear from our guests that they want us to come back to this market," said Christi Erwin Donnan, a spokeswoman for Disney Cruise Line, based just outside Orlando, Fla.
The move is expected to generate about 2,600 new jobs and $35 million annually for the local economy.
