Discovery Of Body Spurs Closure Of Several Lanes Of 605 Freeway In Long Beach
LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Several lanes of a busy thoroughfare were closed after the discovery of a body on the roadway.
The California Highway Patrol received a report of a possible body on the southbound lanes of the 605 Freeway about 10:06 p.m. Tuesday.
Upon arrival, officers located a body they believe was struck by at least one vehicle.
It remains unknown how many vehicles were involved in the incident, authorities said.
The discovery prompted the closure of four lanes of the thoroughfare, as well as the Carson Street on-ramp.
It was not immediately known how long the closure would last, although authorities suspect it will be for at least a couple of hours.
Footage over the scene showed a large back-up.
