Disaronno Honors Marlene Stewart at the Costume Designers Guild Awards
On February 21st, the 14th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards celebrated the achievements of the men and women who work behind the scenes in Hollywood to create the fashions and memorable looks of your favorite movies and televisions shows. Actress Jane Lynch hosted the chic event, and celebrities and artistic greats gathered at the Beverly Hilton Hotel for the affair. A VIP lounge sponsored by the Italian liqueur Disaronno featured amaretto-based twists on the classic Sour and Daiquiri.
Marlene Stewart received one of the night's top honors: Disaronno's Career Achievement in Film Award. Stewart's work has spanned several decades and has shown itself in her own clothing line in the 1980s, costumes designed for Cher, Paula Abdul, Janet Jackson, Bette Midler, Rod Stewart and in eleven videos, three tours and two movies with Madonna. She has worked on numerous movies and currently has her hands full with Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters set for a 2013 release. Disaronno has long valued the arts and film industry, and the high-end liqueur brand's honor for Stewart exemplified the company's dedication to supporting talented individuals in entertainment.
There were several big winners of the evening. Lou Eyrich received the Career Achievement in Television Award following her illustrious work on Popular, Nip/Tuck, CSI: Miami, American Horror Story and Glee. Kate Beckinsale took home the Lacoste Spotlight Award. Deborah Hopper and Clint Eastwood shared the Distinguished Collaborator Award after many years of working together.
Popular movies and television shows racked up awards, too, of course. Trish Summerville won for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Jany Temime won for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, John A. Dunn and Lisa Padovani took home an award for Boardwalk Empire, and Susannah Buxton won for Downton Abbey.
