Dine On A Dime: Maximiliano
HIGHLAND PARK (CBS) — It's a new Italian hot spot serving up old world classic comfort food.
Maximiliano of Highland Park is already developing a loyal clientele and it's only been open for a few weeks.
Entertainment Reporter Suzanne Marques says it's "old school Italian that won't break the bank."
Chef Andre Guerrero grew up in Highland Park, so this restaurant is a homecoming of sorts for him. He even named the eatery after his son, Max.
His inspiration was a simple one. Guerrero says he couldn't find a place that just served a great spaghetti and meatballs.
Meanwhile, Marques calls his roasted pork chop, "The best I ever had." Guerrero puts a lot of time into this dish. "We cook it on a very low temperature for about 18 hours and then we pan roast it."
