Diamond Bar Family Victims Of Home-Invasion Robbery
DIAMOND BAR (CBSLA.com) — A Diamond Bar family was involved in a home-invasion robbery Sunday evening, according to authorities.
The robbery took place in a home at Charmingdale Road and Golden Springs Drive.
Reporting from the scene, CBS2's Cristy Fajardo said officials initially believed the three suspects could still be in the house when they arrived.
She was told the men impersonated police officers to gain access to the residence. At least one of the men was armed with a handgun, and one was dressed in tactical gear, according to officials.
The suspects claimed they were at the home to investigate illegal activity.
Five people, including children, were in the home. No one was injured.
"They put [the family] all into one room," said Sgt. Christina Baker of the LA County Sheriff's Department. "They tied up one of the adults. One of the suspects stayed with the family while the others searched through the house."
The suspects fled.
It was unclear what was taken.
Deputies said they received a 911 call from the victims just before 9 p.m.
Officials said there were two home-invasion robberies in the area last week and they are not sure if the crimes are connected.
