Detectives Seek Suspects Accused In 6 LA Robberies

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Detectives sought the public's help Thursday with identifying two suspects accused in six robberies that took place in the areas of Sylmar and Pacoima.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the robberies occurred between Aug. 28 and Sept. 9 at local markets.

Around 8:30 p.m. Sept. 9, a suspect entered a small market in the 13500 block of Glenoaks Boulevard, officers said.

The suspect allegedly handed a bag to the clerk while pointing a handgun and demanded that he fill the bag with money.

The clerk explained he recognized the suspect from a previous robbery 10 days earlier and armed himself with a handgun.

During an exchange of gunfire, the victim was injured.

KCAL9's Laurie Perez spoke with the employee over the phone, who said he has been recovering from injuries sustained in the robbery.

Officers described the suspect as a Hispanic man about 5-foot-9 and weighing about 185 pounds. He reportedly made demands in both English and Spanish while wearing a ski mask.

Surveillance video released by the LAPD revealed a second suspect; however, no description is available.
