Police Look For Woman Allegedly Kidnapped By Boyfriend And Put In Car Trunk
MONROVIA (CBSLA) — Detectives are asking for the public's help in locating a woman they believe was kidnapped by her boyfriend in Monrovia Monday morning.
Investigators believe 31-year-old Amanda Kathleen Custer was kidnapped and taken against her will by 27-year-old Robert Anthony Camou.
She was last seen being placed in the trunk of his 2017 gray Toyota Prius, CA License plate, 8AOR167. A witness told police that Custer didn't physically resist her boyfriend when she was put in the trunk.
Monrovia police responded to domestic violence reports at the 600 block of Vaquero Road, Monrovia at 8:15 a.m. Monday morning.
They reported finding evidence of an apparent assault that had occurred at the location, including blood.
"These two have had a dating relationship for at least two years," said Lt. Scott Hoglund of the L.A. County Sheriff's Department, "There have been numerous domestic violence incidents between them."
The couple's neighbor, Hosea Ellis said he saw them arguing before, but never had any indication that Camou was capable of hurting Custer: "But you never know. You never know in the heat of the moment what's going to happen... I'm afraid for her. I hope she's okay and this all gets sorted out."
Custer is described as a white female, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.
Camou is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, weighing 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
