Forensic Analyst Testifies In Conrad Murray Trial
LOS ANGELES (CBS) —Prosecutors called computer forensic analyst Stephen Marx to testify Wednesday morning in the Conrad Murray trial.
Murray is accused of involuntary manslaughter in the 2009 death of Michael Jackson.
Marx testified that Murray used his iPhone to send emails hours before Jackson died.
Deputy District Attorney David Walgren removed Murray's iPhone from an evidence bag and highlighted an email that Murray received from a woman named Connie Nung.
Pharmacist Tim Lopez testified Tuesday that Murray ordered 255 vials of propofol between April and June of 2009.
Lopez says Murray wanted to redirect the shipments to an address in Santa Monica, where he was living with his girlfriend, 29-year-old Nicole Alvarez.
Alvarez, who is also the mother of Murray's child, says she received a call from him as Jackson was being taken to the hospital on the day of his death.
Sade Anding, a cocktail waitress, also received a call from Murray that day.
Prosecutors, who maintain that Murray gave Jackson propofol and failed to monitor him properly, say Murray's call to Anding came at the same time Jackson stopped breathing.
Defense attorneys insist Murray was weaning Jackson off the medication, but that the singer gave himself a larger dose of the drug that ultimately killed him.
Rehearsals are now underway for this weekend's "Michael Forever – The Tribute Concert" in Wales, which has divided the Jackson family by going forward during the trial.
