Disabled Woman, 76, Slain In Her Home In Highland
HIGHLAND (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Monday were investigating the slaying of a 76-year-old woman in Highland.
Loyce Comstock was found stabbed multiple times just before 7 a.m. Saturday at her home in the 7000 block of Bonnie Street, according to police.
Comstock, who suffered from multiple disabilities, including impaired vision, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her husband, Raymond, said the incident took place after he left for his overnight shift. The couple was preparing to celebrate their 45th anniversary.
"This was going to be 45 years we've been married, and somebody did this," Comstock said. "And the only room that got stripped was my room."
Comstock believes the killer entered through a window and made off with samurai swords, watches and other personal items. He and their daughter describe Loyce as having been a loving woman who, despite her impairment, cooked for the local Salvation Army to help those in need.
No suspects were arrested, and police have not yet released a possible motive.
