The surveillance video shows the victim — who asked to remain unidentified for fear of possible retaliation — crossing the intersection of of Orangethorpe Avenue and Campus Drive on Sunday with his brother when a vehicle slammed into him and sped away.
Police later said they believe the driver intentionally aimed for the pedestrian by the way the driver swerved into the victim.
The victim said he has no enemies and that the incident has radically altered his attitudes toward life.
"You hear older people in your life telling you all the time that life's too short, enjoy it, do things that you love to do, share your time on Earth with people that you love," he said. "Just by being in that accident, now I understand what they talking about."
Buena Park police detectives continue to investigate the incident, but "so far have come up empty," according to Cpl. Andy Luong.
Police described the vehicle seen in the video as a gold, four-door Mitsubishi Galant with likely damage to the front passenger side windshield.
