Details Emerge In Beating At Dodger Stadium Parking Lot
DOWNEY (CBS) — The Dodger fan who was choked, kicked and punched by a group of men after Sunday night's game went back to the hospital Monday.
It all started when on car rear-ended another in what LAPD officers said was a minor collision.
The drivers exited their vehicles and began arguing. One of the drivers was identified as 30-year-old Arthur Morales, of Monrovia. He, and three of his friends driving in another car, beat the other driver in the collision, police reported. LAPD identified the other suspects as 29-year-old Alan Trujillo, of Los Angeles, 26-year-old Ulisis Briceno, of L.A., and 29-year-old Alejandro Briceno, of La Crescenta.
The victim, a Downey resident, asked to not be identified out of safety concerns.
Officers said the victim was placed in a head lock and choked, punched and knocked to the ground. The police report stated the victim was also restrained by one suspect and attacked while he lay there helpless.
By the time officers arrived to the scene the victim had suffered a laceration over his right eye and was bleeding profusely. He sustained multiple lacerations above the right eye, swelling to the face and scrapes to his legs. He was taken to a hospital Sunday night.
Police said the four men arrested are friends. They were booked for assault with a deadly weapon.
The victim told CBS2 that he returned to the hospital for more medical attention Monday night.
"We have made it clear that we are fully committed to providing a safe, family-friendly environment for all of our fans, and the very quick and effective response by our personnel and the LAPD officers on the scene showed that they were properly deployed and fully engaged in this report," said Dodger President Stan Kasten in a statement released Monday.
