Democrat Jerry Brown Mocks Bill Clinton In Campaign Clip
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown is taking swipes at former President Bill Clinton, a fellow Democrat, after Clinton appeared in a TV attack ad from Brown's rival.
In a video posted on Time Magazine's website from a Sunday event in Los Angeles, Brown says Republican Meg Whitman has "even got Clinton lying about me."
He goes on to say Clinton doesn't always tell the truth, then makes a veiled jab about former White House intern Monica Lewinsky, with whom Clinton had a relationship.
Clinton last week became the unwitting star of a Whitman ad that uses footage from a 1992 Democratic presidential primary debate in which Clinton criticized Brown's record as governor.
The two have had testy relationship since that race.
Time did not identify who shot the video.
