1 Killed, 1 Hospitalized After Vehicles Collide In OC
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO (CBSLA.com) — Police Friday investigated the circumstances surrounding a deadly traffic collision that took place in San Juan Capistrano.
According to the Orange County Sheriff's Department, the crash unfolded just before 2:30 a.m. on the eastbound 74 Freeway at Avenida Siega Road.
Upon their arrival to the scene, deputies learned two cars were involved in the collision.
Paramedics pronounced one person dead a the scene. Their identity is being withheld pending family notification.
The driver of the other vehicle was transported to a hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
Ortega Highway will remain closed in both directions between Avenida Siega Road and Antonio Parkway until further notice.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
