Dana Point Woman Missing Since Tuesday Found In Compton
COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — A 69-year-old Dana Point woman who had been missing since Tuesday was found safe in Compton Thursday morning.
A Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy found Cheryl Jean Moser and her two small dogs around 3:45 a.m. while conducting a welfare check, Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said.
She was found with her 2008 Toyota Prius at a 76 Station, located at the corner of Alondra and Long Beach boulevards, officials said.
"She appeared to be disoriented," Sgt. Ron Hester of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said. "He stopped and talked to her, ran her and discovered she was a missing person out of Orange County."
"We're just so thankful that she's alright," Moser's son, Brian Johnson, told KNX 1070.

Moser was reported missing Tuesday morning after she failed to appear at a Highland Verizon store to buy a new cell phone.
The Orange County Sheriff's Department feared Moser was being held against her will after her credit card was used several times in Pomona, Van Nuys and in Orange County.
At around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, surveillance video at a Laguna Beach Mobil station, 104 N. Coast Highway, captured images of Moser with an unidentified man who was heavily tattooed. Investigators said she charged her card there again.
Several hours later, a witness told an employee at a Pomona gas station that he saw Moser with the same suspect.
Moser's vehicle was also seen on security video.
The male suspect was not with Moser when she was found by authorities. He is described as a white or Latino man, between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a thin build, shaved head and numerous tattoos on his right arm.
No additional details were released.
The Los Angeles and Orange County Sheriff's departments are conducting a joint investigation.
