Dad Pleads Not Guilty To Killing Son, Trying To Kill Wife, 4 Kids

SAN BERNARDINO (AP) — A San Bernardino man has pleaded not guilty to killing his teenage son and attempting to kill his wife and four other children.

The Riverside Press-Enterprise reports a judge entered a not guilty plea Friday on behalf of Ian Roderiquez. Roderiquez is charged with murder, attempted murder, four counts of torture and four counts of child abuse.

Roderiquez was arrested after deputies responded to a 911 call of a man screaming for help inside a home. Roderiquez's 16-year-old son Richard was found dead inside. His 35-year-old wife Sujal Roderiquez and four other children were injured.

Sujal Roderiquez remains in critical condition. Two other sons, ages 12 and 13, are hospitalized but expected to recover. Two daughters, ages 8 and 10, were treated and released to county Children and Family Services.
