Dad Arrested After He Forgot Where He Parked Car With Child In Backseat

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A father was arrested Saturday after he told police he forgot where he parked his car -- with his child in the backseat.

Police responded to a call of a stolen vehicle with a child inside.

After a search, police found the car -- a 2007 blue Honda Accord at Wilcox and Hollywood Boulevard. The child, a 5-year-old, was also found, unharmed.

The father was impaired by drugs or alcohol when he parked at Wilcox and Hollywood, according to the LAPD. When he returned to Hollywood and Vine, he believed his car had been stolen and he became frantic.

The father was arrested for DUI.

Officials said the child was given to its mother.
