DA Declines To File Felony Charge Against Kanye Stemming From LAX Altercation
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles County prosecutors declined Friday to file a felony case against rapper Kanye West stemming from a July 19 altercation he had with a photographer at LAX.
The City Attorney's Office has the option of filing a misdemeanor case.
In a charge evaluation worksheet, the D.A. cited insufficient evidence to file charges.
A prosecutor noted in the one-page document that the photographer "did not sustain significant injury." He was treated and released the same day.
The fracas occurred after the rap star -- the father of reality TV star Kim Kardashian's daughter, North -- arrived at the Bradley International Terminal.
