Cypress Woman, 50, Killed In Rollover Crash In Wildomar
WILDOMAR (CBS) — A 50-year-old woman from Cypress died when a Ford Explorer she was driving had a blowout and overturned in the center median on Interstate 15 southeast of Corona, the California Highway Patrol said Saturday.
The crash occurred at 8:33 p.m. Friday on the southbound I-15, just north of Clinton Keith Road in Wildomar, according to the CHP.
The woman, who was not identified, was traveling at about 70 mph when the Explorer's right rear tire blew out and she was unable to maintain control, said CHP spokesman Nathan Baer.
The deceased was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.
She was taken to the Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, where she was pronounced dead at 11 p.m., Baer said.
The woman's husband, who was wearing a seat belt in the front passenger seat, suffered only minor injuries, he said.
