Cynthia Erivo in "Jesus Christ Superstar" leads 2025 Hollywood Bowl summer season lineup
Cynthia Erivo, known for her powerful singing and acting, leads the list of the Hollywood Bowl's 2025 summer season lineup that was announced Tuesday.
The Emmy, Grammy, Tony winner and three-time Oscar nominee will appear in the annual star-studded musical, "Jesus Christ Superstar."
The LA Phil released its full summer season lineup which includes classical concerts with LA Phil Music & Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel and guest artists covering a wide variety of genres.
"The start of 2025 has been a profound reminder of the strength and resilience of Los Angeles," said Kim Noltemy, President and CEO of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association. "Many of our orchestra members, guest artists and community members have been deeply impacted by this moment, and we are grateful to the dedicated firefighters, service workers and broader community whose efforts help keep LA strong.
The summer season will kick off June 7 with award-winning singer and actor Hugh Jackman. He will be performing songs from "The Greatest Showman," "The Music Man" and other projects. The season will wrap up on Sept. 28 with John Legend.
Other artists like Yo-Yo Ma, Diana Ross, Juanes, Earth, Wind and Fire, Cyndi Lauper, The Roots, and Grace Jones will also have their special nights on stage.
The fan-favorite musical, "Jesus Christ Superstar," will be led by Erivo, who is cast as Jesus.
To honor victims impacted by the wildfires across LA and first responders, the LA Phil will be hosting a free "We Love LA" concert on April 1.
Tickets for opening night go on sale on Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. The Hollywood Bowl Box Office will open for single-ticket sales on May 6 at 10 a.m.
