CS Northridge Holds Off Morgan State With Late Run, 78-62
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. (AP) Stephan Hicks scored 22 points and Stephen Maxwell added 20 as Cal State Northridge turned a late run into a 78-62 victory over Morgan State on Friday night, breaking out of a four-game skid.
Morgan State, ranked 343rd out of 345 teams in field-goal percentage (34.6 percent) made 45-percent of its shots in the first half, trailing 45-40, but went cold after the break, hitting just 7 of its last 30.
Hicks was 8 of 12 from the field for the Matadors (4-11) and Maxwell made 5 of 9 shots, sank 11 at the line and snagged 11 rebounds. Tre Hale-Edmerson dished a career-high six assists and had four of the Matadors' six blocked shots.
Donte Pretlow scored a career-high 16 for Morgan State (2-13) with Blake Bozeman adding 14 and Cedric Blossom 13.
CS Northridge launched a 9-0 run to break open a four-point game, leading 72-59 by 3:04.
