Crews Rescue 5 Hikers From Eaton Canyon

ALTADENA (CBSLA.com) — Officials Friday rescued five hikers who had been lost in Eaton Canyon since Thursday.

A Glendale woman in her 20s told her father she was going hiking with friends at 6 a.m. Thursday and was expected to arrive home at 11 p.m, according to Paul Schrader of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

When the woman failed to return, her father contacted authorities are drove around to look for her. He was able to locate her vehicle near Eaton Canyon.

Officials then launched a search and rescue operation and were able to locate the girl and four of her friends.
