Crews Dislodge Boulders Above PCH In Malibu
MALIBU (AP) — California Department of Transportation crews are using mountain-climbing gear to hang from the sheer hillsides over the Pacific Coast Highway and dislodge boulders that could crash down on the road.
Agency spokeswoman Kelly Markham said Friday that it could be several days before the workers had dislodged enough potentially dangerous rocks for the nine-mile stretch of PCH near Malibu to reopen.
The boulders were exposed by this week's storms, which have caused road closures across the region.
