Crews Douse Brush Fire In Santa Clarita
SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters on Thursday made short work of a small brush fire in the Saugus area of Santa Clarita.
Over 100 Los Angeles County firefighters were dispatched to the scene at Soledad Canyon Road and Gladding Way at around 1:52 p.m., according to Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Kuvondo Johnson.
The small wind-driven blaze moving in a southeasterly direction, but no structures were threatened.
SKY9's Gil Leyvas reported crews deployed six water-dropping aircraft overhead, including a Super-Scooper, amid wind gusts as high as 25 miles per hour.
The blaze grew as large as five acres before a knockdown was declared around 2:50 p.m.
There were no reports of injuries or damage.
