Costco Employee, Others Buy Toys For Boy After Finding Wish List
TEMECULA (CBSLA.com) — A young boy has received almost everything on his Christmas wish list thanks to the kindness of a stranger who found the holiday list at his workplace.
Eric Barragan says he found the list Monday night clearly written by a youngster at a Costco Wholesale store in Temecula.
The list had just eight requests, including the hope of "bringing peace and joy to the world" and attaining "love!"
"Most kids don't ask for those things, and I thought that was pretty special," Barragan told CBS2's Crystal Cruz.
Hoping to find the child, who also asked for new shirts and a $15 gift card, Barragan put the list on social media.
The mystery was solved after a woman recognized the name scribbled on the list and put Barragan in touch with Julian Huey's family.
The family told Cruz times are tough living off a military pension.
"I think I spent the first half of the last 24 hours just in shock," said Michele Huey, Julian's mom.
With help from strangers online, Barragan bought and delivered all the toys that Julian wanted and then some.
"It's still not everything that I wanted," said Julian. "All I want, mostly, my biggest thing is a big heart to love everyone and bring joy to the world."
