LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Actor Paul Walker died from combined traumatic and thermal injuries as a result of a car crash, the Los Angeles County Coroner said Wednesday.
The 40-year-old "Fast & Furious" star and friend 38-year-old Roger Rodas died Saturday when Rodas' Porshe GT hit a pole and tree before catching fire.

According to the report, Rodas, who authorities confirm was behind the wheel, also suffered traumatic injuries.
Both deaths have been ruled by the coroner to be accidents.
Officials say speed was a factor, but the cause of the crash remains under investigation, and friends of Rodas maintain that he was an experienced and skilled race car driver.
Results from toxicology tests are not expected for six to eight weeks, the coroner said.
Universal Pictures announced Wednesday it has shut down production "for a period of time" on "Fast & Furious 7" following Walker's death.
