Coroner: Son Killed Parents, Committed Suicide
WHITTIER, Calif. (AP) — Coroner's investigators say the 31-year-old son of a Whittier couple shot and killed his parents before committing suicide in their home.
The bodies were found Friday night.
Coroner Investigator Kelli Blanchard tells the Pasadena Star-News that Mario Escobedo, who lived with his parents, committed suicide after shooting to death 67-year-old Raul Escobedo and 60-year-old Debra Escobedo. A motive hasn't been disclosed.
A relative discovered Debra Escobedo's body in the home and notified Whittier police. Officers surrounded the home, fearing a suspect may be inside, and a SWAT team entered seven hours later and found three people dead.
