Coroner Identifies Suspect In Hermosa Beach Murder-Suicide
HERMOSA BEACH (CBSLA.com) — The Coroner on Saturday identified the suspect in a murder-suicide in Hermosa Beach earlier this week.
The suspect was identified as 32-year-old Angel Marquez of Los Angeles, according to Lt. Dave Smith of the Coroner's office.
TV news reports identified his victim as 35-year-old Vantha Tho, a hairstylist who worked near her home in Hermosa Beach.
The two were found dead at about 6:30 a.m. Thursday in a home located in the 100 block of Herondo Street.
Authorities say Marquez fatally shot Tho, then turned the gun on himself.
"We understand that there was a dating relationship at some point ..." sheriff's Lt. Mike Rosson told reporters. "We don't know exactly how long ago the relationship broke off."
The gun was recovered at the scene, according to police.
