Coroner: Latino Man's Body Found In Manhattan Beach, No Identity Released

MANHATTAN BEACH (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office Friday said a body found at a South Bay park is that of a young Latino man.

The victim's name and cause of death have not been released.

The body was discovered by Manhattan Beach city workers Thursday in a pile of fertilizer at Polliwog Park in the 1500 block of North Peck Avenue, police said.

The man's body was wrapped in some sort of pink material, according to detectives.

Investigators believe the victim was killed at another location before being brought to the park.

It was unclear if the man was connected to a missing person's case. An autopsy was not scheduled to take place until Monday at the earliest, KNX 1070's Pete Demetrio reported.
