Corona Special Needs Teacher Arrested For Alleged Sex With Students Out Of Jail

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) —A 31-year-old Corona high school teacher accused of having sexual contact with several underage male students on campus was out of jail Friday.

Summer Michelle Hansen, a special education instructor at Centennial High School, posted a $150,000 bond and was released from the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.

Hansen was arrested Thursday afternoon on suspicion of statutory rape, oral copulation of a minor and other sex-related allegations for multiple encounters with teenagers.

Detectives were notified Tuesday that a former student had a relationship with the suspect.

Officers claim they identified numerous other victims under the age of 18 during the subsequent investigation.

Search warrants were executed at Hansen's home in the 11300 block of Chinaberry Street in Corona and another location in Riverside County before she was taken into custody.

Corona-Norco Unified School District officials, who placed Hansen on leave pending the outcome of the case, said the suspect teaches an ungraded life skills class, but none of the accusations have come from those students.

Anyone with information on the reported crime was asked to contact Det. Mario Hernandez of the Corona Police Department at (951) 279-3659.
