Cop Accused Of Having Sexual Relationship With 14-Year-Old
SOUTH GATE (CBSLA.com) — A police officer assigned to Metropolitan State Hospital in Norwalk has been accused of engaging in a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl.
Mario Estrada, 41, was taken into custody Tuesday and was being held in lieu of $15 million bail.
The officer, who works for the California Department of State Hospitals, allegedly met the teen through "family and friends" earlier this year.
"This resulted in an inappropriate relationship and illegal physical contact between the suspect and victim," said Capt. Darren Arakawa of the South Gate Police Department.
Investigators believe there may be other victims.
